Sheet Metal Worker - 2nd shift **Department:** Production **Location:** Minneapolis, MN **Electric Machinery Company, a division of WEG Electric Corp.** **Minneapolis, Minnesota** Position: Sheet Metal Worker Team: Fabrication **Primary Objective of Position:** A Sheet Metal worker is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of metal fabricating equipment. A Sheet Metal worker works with a high degree of detail adhering to safety and quality standards. **Major Areas of Accountability:** + Set up and operate metal fabricating equipment such as press brakes, shears, rolls, punch presses, drill presses, iron worker, bands saws and other miscellaneous tools. + Reads prints and routing tickets to determine methods, sequence, tolerance, material and process specifications. + Works in other areas of the Fabrication Team skills matrix, may work in the welding area. + Lift and move materials using forklift, pallet jack, overhead crane or jib crane. + Demonstrates a commitment to Continuous Improvement by identifying opportunities in day-to-day work. + Performs to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abides to OSHA and EPA regulations. **Knowledge/ Skills/Abilities:** + High School degree, with a minimum of 1 year relevant manufacturing experience. + Knowledge of layouts, ability to read design prints, perform basic math and calculate conversions. + Knowledge of hand tools, including pneumatic and electric driven power grinders and tools. + Ability to use shears, press brakes, drill presses and CNC punch presses. + Ability to operate and program CNC punch and CNC brake presses. + Ability to be certified in overhead and Jib crane operation and forklift operation. **Physical Requirements:** + Routinely lifts and moves objects up to 50 lbs. + Occasionally ascends/descends ladders and stairs. + Occasionally works at heights or on platforms. + Occasionally positions self in various works spaces, including low, tight or confined spaces. + Routinely remains in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time. + Routinely uses repetitive motions including the wrists, hands or fingers to operate machinery or tools. + Routinely moves from one work station to another to accomplish tasks. **Salary:** + 2nd Shift salary range $20.00 hourly to $24.00 hourly (plus $2.00/hour differential) Will compensate with experience. Position is full-time. **Pay Types:** Voluntary weekday and weekend overtime.
