Sheetmetal Mechanic

Summary: Hiring Sheetmetal Mechanics with varying levels of experience for specialized roles in aerospace sheet metal fabrication and assembly.

Job Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Ownership of personal tools as per company tool list.

Proficiency in English language.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, repair manuals, etc.

Skilled in the use of hand tools like drill motors, screw guns, die grinders, and routers.

Preferred Skills:

Prior Aerospace experience strongly preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

Apprentice Level:

Learn basic Sheet Metal Fabrication to perform within budgeted time and at company standards of quality.

Perform tasks such as part marking, materials prep, satin finish operations under supervision.

Mechanic I:

In addition to Apprentice duties, demonstrate understanding of engineering blueprints/drawings.

Form structural members using aerodynamic smoothing compound and various fasteners.

Mechanic II:

In addition to Mechanic I duties, read blueprints for simple assemblies using correct fasteners.

Make basic molds/form blocks for part fabrication according to specifications.

Mechanic III:

In addition to Mechanic II duties, proficiently form complex shapes/parts per engineering specs.

Assemble detail parts with minimal supervision and assist in developing lower level mechanics.

Mechanic IV:

In addition to Mechanic III duties, design/fabricate complex molds and form blocks independently.

Plan and manage large assignments foreseeing problems with solutions to maintain production flow.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Tolerate loud noises and work with hazardous chemicals/solvents/resins/adhesives.

Visual acuity must be minimum 20/40 corrected.

Capable of bending, stooping, kneeling; climb steps/ladders/service stands.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM (40 hours a week)
