OVERVIEW:
The Shelter Manager is responsible for the operational management of administrative and program functions for the Harbor House Family Emergency Shelter.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shelter Administration:
Supervise all staff at Harbor House Oversee all aspects of management and administration of the shelter department Maintain a compliance manual in accordance to The Salvation Army Policy & Procedures for Social Service Programs Prepare schedules, time off requests, time records, and evaluate employee performances Attend weekly staff meetings in planning and implementing services on campus Assist in the hiring process Manage requisitions and office supplies inventory for Harbor House Submit weekly and monthly statistical reportsShelter Management:
Perform regular site supervision of Harbor House Resident facility areas Work with Facilities Manager to oversee janitorial staff Responsible for consistent program management and updating policies, procedures, and operations manuals for Harbor House Program(s) Responsible for the adherence to requirements of any contract(s) at Harbor House Review and approve file maintenance system for case management files Oversee and provide supervision of case management and care coordination Maintain a safe environment for the health and well-being of all clients and personnel at Harbor House Address any grievances or issues filed by clients Oversee the therapeutic, clinical, and program needs of Harbor House program participantsShelter Development:
Coordinate with the Executive Director, Business Admin, and/or Assistant Corps Officer for development of programs and to update goals and expected outcomes Attend monthly Harbor Light Center Advisory Council meetings Outreach and network with other agencies to build a referral base as needed for program services Work with Social Services Director with submission of reports or backup materials Attend community meetings and activitiesEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
CA driver’s license (required) Experience overseeing case management staff (2 years required) Experience working with federal, state, and local contracts Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related (preferred) Experience in a shelter or residential treatment center (preferred) TB clearance (within the first seven days of employment – company provided) First Aid and CPR certification (within first fourteen days of employment – company provided)SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
