Job Purpose:
This role ensures the CO2 Sequestration Project meets all SHES requirements by leading initiatives in procedures, best practices, resources, lessons learned, and incident management. You will oversee all project activities and collaborate with the SHES & Risk Manager, Technical (MP), and related groups such as subsurface and operations, with the primary goal of preventing any incidents on the project.

Key Responsibilities - (Duties include but not limited to): Safety Leadership: Develop, implement, and monitor SHES policies, procedures, and best practices to safeguard every aspect of the project. Compliance & Surveillance: Establish effective self-assessments and regular reviews to ensure continuous compliance and performance, sharing insights with project leadership. Incident Management: Lead and coordinate incident investigations and technical reviews to ensure timely resolution and improvement. Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between project teams, contractors, and external partners, ensuring smooth communication and coordination. Reporting: Prepare and deliver weekly, monthly, and annual SHES performance reports to highlight leading and lagging indicators, risk areas, and corrective actions. Cultural Stewardship: Champion our company’s safety, health, and environmental standards while fostering a positive safety culture across all project phases.
Minimum Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in SHES or a related discipline. At least 12 years of SHES experience, including 5+ years in a second-line management role. Recent hands-on SHES leadership on major EPC projects, particularly in brownfield environments. Technical & Business Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficient with Microsoft Office, engineering applications, and process simulation software. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with culturally diverse teams. Key Competencies Strong understanding of SHES principles with a proven record of maintaining safety and compliance. Exceptional planning, organization, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead by example, foster collaboration, and communicate complex information clearly. Commitment to ethical standards, innovation, and continuous improvement.
