SHIFT CHARGE ENGINEER: ENGIE Kathu Operations (Internal/External)Permanent Position
Main Responsibilities include:
Apply technical expertise , strong leadership skills, and ability to make quick, informed decisions under pressure. It is crucial for maintaining the operational integrity and efficiency of the CSP plant; Assist development of the short and long term operation strategy for the plant Organise and coordinate resources and tasks to ensure the plant operate in accordance to the load dispatch requirements and weather forecasts Assist to establish the appropriate procedures and computerised maintenance management processes as applicable to a prudent operation management , in particular the permit to work system. Submit reports and recommendations to Operations Manager and keep him/her informed regarding all matters relating to plant operations; Manage Work Permits, and shut down equipments through LOTO procedure; Perform required technical training to enhance the professional skills of the Operations team; Continuously improve systems and procedures based on experience; Understands and adheres to all plant safety guidelines and procedures to strives to maintain an injury-free environment. Understands and masters the Plant Emergency Handling Procedures. Participates in the mandatory training provided by the company and ensuring that the operations team participates as well during the training shift. Perform cleaning strategies to keep reflectivity of Solar Field according O&M agreement. Assists in scheduling daily maintenance actions, plant configuration changes and varying power generation levels. At the end of the Shift, conduct regular meetings with subordinates to discuss maintenance work progress, schedules problems, interferences, priorities, near misses, etc.. Ensures the completion of shift round checklists, routine daily/weekly/monthly test checklists and equipment change-over checklists, etc, is done and do proper handover to next shift. Identify problems with plant equipment and clearly communicates the conditions associated with these problems to the plant maintenance team. Coordinates with other Shift Charge Engineers. Responsible for the generation and sending the Plant’s daily data requirements in a timely manner to all applicable parties. Maintaining high standards of management, ethics and leadership
Qualifications:
BTech / N/Diploma / Degree in Chemical/Production Management/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Leadership certificate an added advantage Registration as Professional Engineer an added advantage Driver’s License;Experience:
5 - 10 year experience in the operation of a large power and plant (Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or in the Chemical Industry). 3 Years of which should preferably be in the capacity of Shift Charge Engineer or supervisory role.
SKILLS:
Good command of oral and written English is an advantage. Highly proactive and self-motivated. Must have good interpersonal skills. Must be able to think clearly and respond calmly in emergency situations; Must have excellent organizational skills. Demonstrates skills in the use of tools. Strong Electrical/mechanical/ aptitude, an in-depth understanding of chemical, physical, and mathematics. Fully familiar with Work Permit System. Ability to perform First Aid and CPR.
Language:
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
IT:
Must have a basic skill in Business Computing Applications such as Databases, Word Processors, Spreadsheets, PowerPoint. SAP/ Maximo
Remuneration:
The compensation will be market related
