What Will Be Your Environment:
The Painesville plant is one of Lubrizol’s larger facilities in the area, just outside of Cleveland, OH.
You'll have the opportunity to develop skills that will allow you to grow your career well into the future. This is hands-on development program that is great opportunity for someone start, pivot, or continue their career in industrial operations with a stable and growing organization.
What You'll Do:
The Shift Lead is accountable for the shift’s performance in EH&S, production throughput, housekeeping, daily task completion, hazard identification / reporting / remediation / escalation. The Shift Lead is responsible for leading operators and contractors on the shift to ensure team members work efficiently and effectively to meet business, site, and unit objectives. Serves as the shift activity coordinator / gatekeeper during off hours.
What We're Looking For:
Ensures shift compliance with all relevant safety policies and procedures. Ensures shift operators are aware of, and meet, shift expected performance targets and deliverables. Assigns duties to specific employees based on knowledge, competencies, and qualifications. Performs and assists with shift tasks as appropriate to meet shift expectations. Acts as the main point of communication to leadership and a liaison between Operators, Production Engineer, and Operations Leader. Trains and develops operators according to individual training plans. Monitors attendance, tardiness, and time-off and escalates as appropriate. Helps resolve on-shift conflicts and teaches conflict resolution skills. Ensures adherence to company policies, EH&S, process safety, and employment standards and escalates as needed. Initiates incident investigations and implements corrective actions as appropriate. Performs and supports simple problem-solving and more formal Root Cause analyses. Ensures effective shift relief. Conducts performance reviews and shares feedback with leadership and team members.
Skills That Make a Difference:
High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited school Strong ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) knowledge. SAP/S4 warehouse management skills including understanding all applicable S4 warehousing activities. Strong analytical skills Ability to coach and train personnel Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills Ability to adapt to a changing environment. Demonstrate leadership abilities and flexibility. Proven ability to troubleshoot and problem solve. Completion of a leadership development training/program
Considered a Plus:
Prior supervisory experience. HAZWOPER Trained 2- or 4-Year College Degree Inventory Management Lean manufacturing / continuous improvement expertise (tools & culture)
