Position Overview

Shaw Industries is looking for a Shift Manager to this position will provide leadership in metrics related to the day-to-day operations within the department (i.e. safety, quality, waste, productivity, cost reductions).  Responsible for communicating, developing, and consistently managing teammates within the department, and will be based in Cartersville, GA.

Position Overview:

Lead a team of hourly associates to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals. Understand the safety expectations, led by example and work with team managers to ensure safety rules are followed and enforced. Serves as the PEO Leader for the shift. Serve as a resource to team managers in medical and SIF incidents. Serve as a resource for critical incident investigations on shift. Work with EHS and team managers to make sure all safety audits are complete. In conjunction with EHS, organize safety blitz/campaigns on the shifts and report findings. Provide support to Team Managers in addressing associate issues and documenting the event as necessary. Be a resource to Department Managers in the developmental training of Team Managers. Provide assistance and collaborate with HR on investigations as needed. Coordinate weekend coverage for team managers on each shift. Monitor missing punch reports and provide assistance with Workforce matters. Assist in making quality-related decisions with Team Managers as needed. Audit stability related quality checks in continuous process’ as needed (Precoat and Extrusion). Coordinate expediting of hot orders through each process as needed. Coordinate unloading of incoming orders based on bin space if that department needs support. Monitor balance of WIP between each process if that department needs support. Address missed rolls on shop orders if that department needs support. Coordinate movement of labor between departments as needed. Be able to access systems with scheduling tools and use them to make decisions. Be involved in any equipment downtime beyond 30 minutes if that department needs support. Assist Team Managers in resolving issues causing inefficiency in their process at the discretion of the Department Manager.

Requirements:

4 year degree or High School Diploma/GED and Leadership experience. 3+ years' leadership experience and must be within the most recent 5 years.Ability to work weekends as needed
