Business Unit: Nestlé Purina Job Title: Shift Manager Location: Sudbury, Suffolk Shift Based Position – 4 on 4 off, 2 days and 2 nights. AVE 42 hours a week Salary circa £50,000 (depending on experience) plus potential 8% bonus, private medical insurance, and other fantastic benefits. This role requires a strong people manager that can share and contribute to the continuous improvement of the plant and their processes, providing an optimum service to the Teams. The opportunity is to join our production teams as a **Shift Manager** , based at our Nestlé Purina factory in Sudbury, Suffolk. Manufacturing in Nestlé is all about ensuring the consumer receives a perfect quality product, at the right time and place whilst driving losses from our business in order to maximise efficiency & productivity. **A day in the life of a Shift Manager…** As the Shift Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that across site the production plan is fully achieved on time and in compliance with standards and legal requirements, meeting safety, quality, hygiene, cost and environment needs in a 24-hour, 7 day a week operation, driving our people to success and delivering the production plan. Other key day-to-day activities will be: • You will drive Standards and our Key Standard Routine journey ensuring results are delivered consistently and any deviation are actioned using continuous improvement and selective TPM tools. + empowering and inspiring people by supporting the line team and developing their capability. + Maintain a safe working environment in compliance with local laws, SHE and Quality standards by identifying risks associated to activities within zone and ensure reactive incidents are managed and resolved or escalated, striving for zero unsafe conditions and behaviours to achieve zero accidents. + Support Engineering on unplanned stops root cause and resolution. + Support and execute identified planned tasks. Liaise with support departments and use their resources to make necessary changes. + Effectively manage the Shift Operational Review and the Autonomous Working Group (AWG). + Adopt and nurture a working style which actively involves and motivates colleagues, promoting an environment of continuous improvement and excellence. + Develop organisational capability by supporting and co-ordinating in the transfer and enhancement of skills through coaching others and share current best practice within the team **What will make you successful** To be successful in this role you will have a proven track record working in a FMCG manufacturing environment. Other key attributes we are looking for are: • People management skills that include but not limited too the management of teams with an average of 30 people in them. + Worked in a complex matrix manufacturing site + Demonstrate the ability to motivate, coach and develop personal development plans for team members. + Provide evidence of Continuous improvement projects that you have been included in and your contribution or examples of projects delivered as the lead **What you need to know** What can we offer in return?
