Title Shift Operations Supervisor Position Number 39728 Company WA River Protection Solutions City/State Richland, WA Location 200E Posted 01/08/2025 Closes 01/15/2025 Regular/Temporary Regular Full/Part-Time Full-Time Job Responsibilities/Duties Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) seeks a Shift Operations Supervisor to support the Effluent Treatment Facility operations. The Effluent Treatment Facility (ETF) is a 24/7 operating radiological facility that receives, treats and disposes of liquid effluents from on-site projects. ETF Operations organization consists of approximately 8 Shift Managers and 52 Operators. This position, ETF Shift Supervisor, will perform duties as a Field Work Supervisor (FWS) and support the Shift Manager (SM) focusing on Conduct of Operations, workplace safety and regulatory compliance. The Shift Operations Supervisor duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Supervise Operations crew/shift personnel as assigned by the Shift Manager; * Maintain awareness of plant status and field work; * Communicate plant status and issues to Management team; * Conduct pre-job briefings to ensure personnel involved in the work activity are familiar with the work scope hazards, hazard controls, precautions, limitations, required training, applicable procedures, and response to emergencies; * Act as interpretive authority on applicable procedures and ensure accuracy and timely development and revision; * Review operations to develop plans to improve efficiency and reduce exposure to radiation and hazardous materials; * Analyze complex equipment and systems problems to determine corrective actions to return equipment and systems to normal service; * Perform and coordinates procedure reviews and the review and analysis of specific plant operating problems; * Conduct reviews and analysis of systems/components. Participate/coordinate planning and conducting equipment/systems tests and readiness-related activities; and * Perform other duties as assigned. Please Note: This position is being advertised under the current Tank Operations Contractor, Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS). However, now that transition activities have begun a candidate selected for employment may be hired under the incoming contractor, Hanford Tank Waste Operations & Closure (H2C) contract. Further details will be provided during the hiring process. Required Qualifications Grade 18: * Bachelors (BA/BS) degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering or a related field; and * Eight (8) years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Grade 19: * Bachelors (BA/BS) degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering or a related field; and * Nine (9) years of related experience, to include a minimum of three (3) years in a supervisory capacity, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Desired Qualifications * Experience with Nuclear Operations either on a Department of Energy site or commercial site. * Previous experience with DOE, DNFSB staff and regulators desirable. * Previous experience with the ETF desirable. Compensation & Benefits In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, WRPS takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made within the targeted hiring range posted. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
