Job SummaryLead day-to-day operations of the plant in the production of high quality corn products that provide value to customers and a return to shareholders. Assure safety and compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations and be proactive in your support, leadership and participation in the company safety program. Manage the plant in keeping with established policies, procedures and plant priorities.Essential Job FunctionsManage day-to-day plant operations, including regular inspections and oversight.Works with Plant Superintendents and Department Superintendents to support Continuous Improvement activities in the plant.Ensures that Incident Investigation Reports are completed in a timely manner for incidents that occur on their shift.Knowledgeable and responsible for environmental compliance and decisions on reportable issues.Maintains an understanding and proactively addresses quality issues throughout the plant.Coordinates and follows through on personnel issues that arise on shift with the appropriate Plant Leadership.Mentors Shift Supervisors and operators.  Provides input on hourly shift personnel to Dept. Supervisors and provides feedback to Dept. Superintendents regarding the performance of the Dept. Supervisors.Maintains a global understanding of the plant operations and is responsible for decision making in all areas of the operation in the absence of dayshift Leadership.Ensures completion of requests and instruction in individual department communications.Sets priorities and helps coordinate maintenance resources and activities in the absence of day shift maintenance management.Work on special projects as assigned by the Plant Leadership and assists Dept. Superintendents with project work.Is the main contact for all security issues in the absence of day shift Leadership.Analyze information and evaluate results to solve production problems and choose best solutions.  Assist with trouble-shooting and problem-solving in the field when necessary.Direct oversight of rail switching activities and oversight of the railroading contractor.Indirect oversight of contractors doing work in the facility.Works a 12-hour rotating shift schedule.Serves as the incident commander in the event of a plant emergency, and conducts incident command drills with the shift and plant teams.Education/Training/Experience:Previous work experience managing people and production processes.ADM safety orientation and ongoing OSHA required plant safety training.Basic knowledge of process equipment.Excited about this role but don’t meet every requirement listed?
