This is an exempt level position.
Position Summary:
Must be able to work shift schedule including weekends, holidays, and overtime when required. This position will rotate between the 4 shifts at the plant.
The primary responsibility of this shift Supervisor is to supervise the daily activities of hourly personnel, while assisting in determining workflow and scheduling. The Shift Supervisor must also be able to perform the tasks required to fill-in for operators as needed. This position will work in and oversee activities in the crush facility including bean prep, extraction and meal loadout. The skills necessary to be successful in this role include the ability to lead and manage plant priorities in the areas of plant and personnel safety, administration of corporate and plant policies, quality control, environmental compliance, production, cost management, and food safety. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with previous supervisory experience or someone with operations experience interested in stepping into a supervisory role
Job Responsibilities:Display a commitment to lead, participate and support ongoing safety including value-based safety efforts.Assist in the daily plant operations, which include safety and environmental compliance, food safety, quality control, production, cost optimization and efficiencies.Understanding of operations, rules, regulations, policies and possess the ability to communicate those requirements effectively to the workforce to aid in training and development of new employees.Maintain good working relationships with all employees. Oversee completion of GMP Audit and Sanitation items throughout the facility.Provide solutions and promote teamwork among various groups of employees in production, maintenance and lab.Job Qualifications:The candidate must be able to work in a variety of environmental conditions. Experience in an agricultural manufacturing environment with engines, performing hot work on industrial equipment is preferred.Possession of a current, state issued Drivers License is required..Ability to climb stairs, some lifting, sit and stand for long periods of time, work with heights, bending, kneeling and the use of a respirator required.Excellent communication skills to provide guidance and feedback.Results driven to provide support to achieve the goals established by management.The ability to provide motivation to the direct reports and demonstrate leadership qualities to all plant personnel.Problem solving skills and sound decision making are necessary to be successful.High school diploma or equivalent.Excited about this role but don’t meet every requirement listed?
