A successful Shift Supervisor will have knowledge in or be able to achieve the below Job Qualifications.

Education/Experience

Two-year degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or equivalent experience preferred

Essential Functions, Knowledge and Competencies

Able to effectively supervise and manage peopleStrong background in manufacturing processesAbility to lift 50 poundsAbility to stand for extended periods of time (8-10 hours or more), frequent bending and twistingProlonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerExcellent problem-solving skillsAble to deal with stressful situations in a calm and controlled mannerMust be able to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawingsMust understand the proper use and the limitations of standard inspection measuring and test equipmentGood interpersonal communication skillsMust have vision correctable to 20/20Ability to distinguish colorBasic computer skills

Responsibility/Authority May Include:

Provide supervision and management in all areas of production during assigned shiftResponsible for employee safetyEnsure product quality and production output for all employeesEmployee training as neededSet high standards, provide strong leadership and coaching to direct reportsPromote a team-based environment, positive atmosphere, open door policy and harassment-free environmentEnsure personnel are qualified prior to allowing them to perform operationsDelegate to appropriate personnel, ensuring decisions are made at the appropriate levelSupport plant goals and objectivesInitiate cost reduction programs through effective problem solving and process improvement effortsSafety advocate, promoting and enforcing safety standardsPerform annual employee reviews and make personnel recommendationsEnsure the quality of PE products meets or exceeds customer requirementsAttend routine meetings to discuss quality system and production related issuesEnsure compliance with ISO and FDA regulationsSupport Material Review Board as neededCoordinate emergency response activities on assigned shiftHandle discipline issues as needed and communicate issues to Group Lead and Human ResourcesTrain employees as needed
