Job Summary: Performs clerical tasks incident to booking ocean containers. Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for ordering supply containers for the movement of merchandise to overseas supported Exchanges. Prepares export-traffic releases ETR and forwards to military management command-eastern western area MTMC-EA MOTBA for appropriate action. - Prepares transportation control movement document TCMD for movement of containerized freight in accordance with Department of Defense Regulations. Reviews TCMD against freight bill for pieces weight cube accuracy destination authorized signature and compatibility of hazardous material. Forwards completed copies to appropriate office for ship manifesting. Where discrepancies are found prepares memorandum to appropriate overseas activities notifying them of misdirected freight and or freight left behind etc. Notifies supervisor of same. - Monitors files and receives booking information via telephone fro appropriate office. Annotates files to show booking information for Exchange shipment and forwards documents to van stuffing area for processing. - Maintains liaison with appropriate offices to coordinate shipment releases with delivery date requirements of the ordering activities. - Prepares dangerous cargo load list DCLL Form DD225 by transportation control number TCN shipping name classification label type of package etc. following established procedures. Forwards to supervisor for review. - Prepares manifest listing of freight included in each completed van. Receives loading reports and verifies that proper cargo has been loaded checks type of commodity consignee and priorities requested. Computes van content to determine total pieces weight and cube of contents and calculates weights and pieces reported to assure that manifest in correct. - Prepares schedules on vans to be stuffed according to sailing commitment. Records breakout by store destination and breakout number. Includes special order items based on requests from overseas Exchanges. - Reviews requisition and invoice shipping documents DD 1149 for accuracy and to insure all appropriate documents are attached. Audits billing documents for total retail costs and forwards to appropriate offices for processing. - Receives picking sheet and daily activity reports from warehousing sections for preparation of daily weekly and monthly reports. Checks against daily roster for accuracy. Computes all data furnished for the completion of daily management report. - Makes extensions to inter-store transfer data or other documents for salvaged merchandise by unit cost. Compiles and forwards to designated locations. - Assists supervisor in scheduling vans for stuffing operation. Coordinates movement of trucks railcars etc. with appropriate personnel of the Naval Supply Center. - Maintains a number of logs reports on customs freight periodicals jackets by destination port and voyage etc. Also maintains monthly productivity reports of warehousing functions. - Receives van stuffing documents from warehouse loading ramp for review of accuracy of loading manifest and transfer documents. - Works under the general supervision of a designated supervisor. Work is performed within the framework of established policies procedures and guidelines refers unusual problems to supervisor for resolution. Completed work is subject to spot check review for accuracy and adherence to regulations and instructions. - Performs other related duties as assigned. TRAINING REQUIREMENT Associate must receive Hazardous Material HazMat training within 90 days of hire per Department of Transportation regulations
