MAJOR FUNCTION

Responsible for shipping products out of the Fulfillment Center in Rancho Palos Verdes (Crestmont Campus) in a timely manner, ensuring that adequate inventory is maintained. Maintain inventory in a safe and clean environment, ensuring that there is adequate storage for inventory.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Extensive knowledge of Salvation Army policies and procedures Some knowledge of Spanish and/or other languages used in the territory would be an advantage Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products, especially Word and Excel Knowledge of UPS or other shipping system

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This position ensures orders for TradeWest are filled and shipped in an efficient and timely manner. Prints and prioritizes orders daily. Ensure that TradeWest Fulfillment Center Manager is aware of all inventory needs and issues. Work with Customer Service to ensure that all inventory issues are communicated to customers in a timely manner. Assist Fulfillment Center Manager in shipping all orders out daily and compares shipping rates for orders. Ensure that items are shipped out well packaged and presented to the customer Be able to produce reports from the system showing shipping cost for both Trade and other vendors Operate and maintain embroidery machine and engraving machine after adequate training. Travel may be required as needed. Assist at territorial events, such as Commissioning, as needed.  Heavy lifting and substantial moving and organizing of inventory All other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

Active Salvationist, or extensive knowledge of The Salvation Army as an employee, preferred Experience working with a wide diversity of people in a customer service environment. Experience working as a shipper highly desirable Expert knowledge of a major shipping system (UPS, FedEx, USPS) an essential
