The Material Handler - Receiving Specialist is responsible for performing physical and administrative tasks related to the shipping, receiving, storing, and distribution of materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of inventory records and supports the overall logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities
+ Shipping and Receiving:
+ Prepare and maintain records of products shipped and track shipments.
+ Receive incoming materials, unload trucks, unpack, and check goods received against purchase orders or invoices.
+ Verify the quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications.
+ Reject unsatisfactory items where necessary.
+ Maintain records of received goods, process freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents.
+ Regularly patrol the equipment storage area and inspect all conveyances and IIT (Intermodal Intermediate Transport) for evidence of tampering or suspicious activity.
Basic Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
Working Conditions
+ This role may require working in various environments, including warehouses and outdoor storage areas.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Minimum of 2 years of experience directly related experience with Inventory Management, OR Material Handling, OR Store Supply in a manufacturing company
+ Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or inventory management is preferred.
+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
+ Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving materials.
+ Basic computer skills for maintaining records and processing documents.
+ Experience using Microsoft Office 365 & SAP
+ Ability to walk, stand, bend and lifting for long periods of time
+ High attention to detail and accuracy
+ Good written and verbal communication skills both within the group as well as to assist customers on the phone and in-person
+ Must be able to lift and move 30+ pound packages repeatedly
+ Knowledge of material handling procedures and Environmental Health and Safety requirements
