Summary of Position:
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving inbound product and/or & shipping outbound order, recording and controlling of all documents both internally and externally.
Functions of the Position: % of Time Essential/ Marginal
· Responsible for all receiving and shipping documentation/
records. Ensures orders and product is shipped/received
complete. Follows up with customer solution, transportation,
purchasing, vendors and other internal and external customers.
Updates the logistics website throughout the day. 25% Essential
· Ensures all employees are using proper documents.
Ships/receives orders through the Warehouse Management
System (WMS)/QAD system. Issues lot numbers, makes pallet
ID’s and makes copies for QA. 25% Essential
· Schedules inbound and outbound appointments and makes
follow-up calls as necessary. Covers the scale house operator
or wave planner as needed. 25% Essential
· Audits shipment and receiving paperwork packets. Trains
Harvest employees. Assists the Distribution Manager in daily
office duties and procedures. 20% Essential
· Works on other projects as assigned. 5% Essential
· Responsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe
and quality food by following current good manufacturing practices,
allergen/sanitation controls, food defense/food fraud, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and
regulatory requirements.
· Aware and accountable for maintaining and documenting preventative controls
necessary to ensure food safety and quality.
· Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to
management.
· Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills, and
information within assigned team and across functional areas.
· Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as
professional and leadership development.
· Responsible for compliance with all safety policies and procedures established
for health and workplace safety.
· Responsible for supporting safety culture by practicing safe work behaviors,
reporting potential hazards, and conducting safety observations as assigned. Continually

· Education, Experience, and Knowledge:
o High school diploma or equivalent.
o Minimum two years’ experience in shipping and receiving.
· Skills and Competencies:
o Good math skills.
o Ability to read, write and speak English.
o Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Job Specific Requirements:
This position is subject to mandatory overtime based on business needs.
In the event that the Shipping & Receiving Clerk is absent, the Department Manager is responsible for providing an equally qualified person to cover this position.
