Position: Shipping and Receiving Supervisor Job Code: MSLGM2 + Supv, Logistics Location: Delaware Water Gap, PA The Opportunity: The Shipping/Receiving Supervisor position oversees shipping and receiving functions for the mill related to finished goods and incoming furnish. Works with Corporate entities on scheduling of furnish, managing finished good inventory, and scheduling for shipping. Oversee all outside yard areas. Asist with training employees on trucking and other shipping needs. Receive and process routine customer orders, inquiries, and/or customer issues related to orders. Be responsible for maintaining the ongoing relationship with multiple customers and sales staff utilizing knowledge of products, logistics, production planning, and inventory management. How you will impact Smurfit WestRock: * Administers and models safety in his/her area of responsibility; Participates in and enforces the safety program for the shipping/receiving department; reviews safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for all of the department. Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA and plant safety standards. * Manage shipping of finished goods and receiving for incoming furnish goods * Oversee all yard and warehouse areas * Supervise shipping/receiving crew and yardman/chemical receiver. * Communicates directly with the operations department to coordinate shipping/production requirements * Utilizes and maintains JDE system for work order entry. * Represent Smurfit WestRock values and deliver excellent service through each interaction * Track order activity and alert appropriate staff of any potential delivery problems * Partner with Quality Manager to resolve routine customer issues * Serve as a connection between customers and sales staff to ensure responsiveness and customer satisfaction * Track warehouse inventories and update customers on order status * Quickly and effectively resolve customer or production issues maintaining clear communication with customers on status and resolution. * Enter and approve wastepaper loads in IQE system. * Help with additional responsibilities as needed. * Maintains and consistently applies a thorough working knowledge of the Collective Bargaining Agreement * Maintains compliance with all environmental policies and procedures; ensures that all city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to the maintenance crews are met at all times. * Help with additional responsibilities as needed.
