Shipping and storeroom supervisor
Description We are seeking an inventory and logistics Supervisor to join our team at a Machinery Manufacturing industry located in HORSHAM, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will be overseeing the activities related to the shipping and storeroom functions. You will manage logistics, coordinate with various departments, and ensure the effective and efficient movement of goods in and out of our facility across the US and abroad. Responsibilities: • Oversee the logistics review of new orders, coordinating with sales managers and customers to ensure the smooth transportation of goods. • Organize the transportation of all goods in and out of the facility, ensuring timely and efficient processes. • Coordinate with production planning and shop floor supervisors to plan the packing schedule. • Collaborate with purchasing to manage all inbound freight requirements. • Complete required transport-related documentation and liaise with other departments as necessary. • Serve as the point of contact for all transportation questions, carriers, and brokers. • Monitor open orders to prevent delays due to transportation issues, lack of information, or poor planning. • Manage the compliance of lumber procurement, storage, and usage. • Monitor workflow queue for the storeroom clerks and coordinate with relevant production administration personnel if additional work is required. • Responsible for creating and posting all inventory transactions in the Inventory management system. • Coordinate regular cycles counts to improve the accuracy of the inventory and investigate any inventory errors. • Coordinate the physical movement of goods between inventory locations or between a department and the storeroom. • Arrange collection and/or delivery to vendors if a delivery service is not possible. • Continuously improve the storeroom organization, including appropriately stored inventory. Requirements • 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role within the Manufacturing industry • Proficient in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems • Demonstrated ability in managing shipping and receiving processes with international experience • Familiarity with international shipping procedures and regulations • Proven track record in maintaining adequate inventory levels • Experience in conducting annual physical inventory counts • Proficient in preparing and managing shipping documentation • Exceptional customer service skills Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
