Your Role:

The primary responsibility of the Carlsbad Shipping Operator 1 is to safely perform daily loading of shipments and packaging finished goods with minimum supervision. Safely operating material handling equipment while performing these tasks and identifying any unsafe conditions.

 

The Shipping Operator 1 will achieve a basic knowledge of all products manufactured at the Carlsbad facility. They will also have a basic understanding of how equipment and chemicals will react in an emergency. The expected response to those abnormal conditions includes identification and the appropriate notification and escalation procedures. The Shipping Operator 1 will achieve a basic understanding of Quality Management Systems and be able to communicate effectively using written and verbal skills. Hours of operations Tuesday-Saturday 8am-4:30pm PST.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

 

Understand of all product containers, manufactured at the Carlsbad facilityKnowledge of domestic shipping of hazardous materials and non-hazardous materialsReview logistics paperwork, bill of ladings and interpret data to identify and address abnormal conditionsRecognize immediate and potential safety hazards and escalate to the proper supervisorParticipate in safety audits/reviews and participate in developing solutions to safety hazardsFollow supervisor instructions while demonstrating initiative in a collaborative team environmentRecognize and report abnormal conditions related to safety and shipping operationsManage manufacturing Kanban and ensure satellite warehouses and docks comply with site Continuous Improvement and housekeeping standardsMaintain professional and courteous communication with other departments and personnel

 

Physical Attributes:

Wear proper PPE (safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.)Lift up to 50 pounds

 

 

Who You Are:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED3+ years of warehousing experience with domestic shipping of hazardous and non-hazardous material

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Proficient with Microsoft Suites( Word, Excel, and Outlook)Experience using SAP functions Ability to success in a team environmentFamiliarity with material moving equipment, powered industrial trucks (forklift), pallet jacks, power pallet jacks, and drums dolliesAbility to multitask while maintaining a safe working environment and meeting all quality requirements

 

$21.00 to $33.00 an hour
