Shipping Autonomous Coil Yard Operator, BRS

Steel is committed to fostering an inclusive workplace culture and celebrate the diversity of our employees. This position is a Shipping Operator responsible to ensure the activities in the Autonomous Coil Yard are carried out to support BRS goals and objectives within the shipping department on their respective crew assignments.

**Digital assessment test is required to be completed within 14 days of submitting application. 

Duties and Responsibilities:Ensure Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements are followed and a priority.Ensure good housekeeping practices are carried out in job areas and grounds.Be able to communicate with the Supervisors on issues or concerns that may arrive regarding the Autonomous Coil Yard.Required to be crane certified and show proficiency to safely operate a crane.Support all areas as needed in the Shipping Department.Qualifications:Quality, detail, and safety oriented; mechanically inclined and self-motivated.Good insight into team dynamics with strong verbal communication skills and computer literate.Ability to work without direct supervision.High School diploma or equivalent; college degree a plus.Previous steel mill experiences preferred.Operator must have a comprehensive understanding of computers and be able to navigate through multiple applications.Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Environment is typical for a steel mill production area. Though the pulpit area is in an office-like setting, operators are subject to extreme temperatures, high noise levels and dusty/greasy areas outside the Autonomous Coil Yard pulpit. Physically demanding work will be required as needed in the ACY. This position can and will be indoor and outdoor work with expected environmental conditions. Typical work hours are 12-hour shifts, rotating. This results in working some weekends/holidays and overtime.

This position does not supervise others.
