Job Description Shipping Clerk Chester Glass Mat Plant Job Description: The Shipping Clerk will report directly to the shipping supervisor. The clerk will be mainly responsible for overseeing the preparation of all documents for shipments. This role is crucial in ensuring that all orders are processed accurately and efficiently. This role will maintain shipping records and coordinate with the carriers to ensure smooth loading procedures. Also lead and cross train team members. This position requires someone who is passionate about customer satisfaction and can engage with both internal and external customers as well as their team. Job Responsibilities: + Create documents for shipping orders ensuring accuracy and compliance with customer specifications. + Have Bill of Ladings, packing slips and handling instructions included with documents. + Coordinates shipments with various carriers to ensure efficient loading the product. + Track shipments to ensure they arrive on time. Report on any shipping issues or delays. + Communicate with customers or departments regarding shipping status, delays or issues. + Ensure the safe and proper handling of products and compliance with safety regulations. + Maintain accurate records of outgoing shipments. + Exceptional attendance including working every day, on time as scheduled. + Traffic control of all trucks leading to the guard house and shipping docks. + Be familiar with all the IKO emergency procedures and be prepared to respond to any emergency according to the plant’s emergency section of the policies manual. + Act as a back-up to the Shipping Supervisor and the Manufacturing Clerk positions. + Other duties as assigned. Basic Job Qualifications: + 3-5 years Shipping clerk experience or relevant experience in a manufacturing environment. + Candidates must be proficient in the use of computers and can communicate effectively with all levels of employees. i.e., shippers, supervisors, and managers, using both verbal and written communication + Excellent communication (written, verbal, and listening) and analytical skills. + Be able to lead a team and engage in their success. + Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills. + Ability to grow and mentor talent. + Possesses strong process driven results. + Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) + Experience with JDE and a Warehouse Management System (WMS). + Ability to multitask and problem solve. + Ability to learn and train on the automated storage and retrieval system.
