As a Shipping Clerk, you’ll be the key person responsible for coordinating the shipment of our products. You'll handle everything from preparing documentation to coordinating with carriers, ensuring our lumber gets to our customers on time and in great condition. This role is a full-time permanent position working Monday through Friday.

 

What you will do as a Shipping Clerk:

Arrange and coordinate the shipping of lumber and wood products to customers, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries. Prepare and maintain all necessary shipping documents, including bills of lading, invoices, and packing lists. Communicate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries and negotiate shipping rates when necessary. Monitor shipments to ensure they are delivered on time and resolve any issues that arise during transit. Assist with maintaining accurate inventory records and ensure products are correctly labeled and stored for shipping. Inspect outgoing shipments to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications. Handle customer inquiries and provide updates on shipment status as needed. Work closely with production, warehouse, and sales teams to ensure seamless shipping operations.

 

Experience and skills that will help you stand out:

Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a keen eye for detail. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with carriers and customers. Proficiency with shipping software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel). Ability to think on your feet and resolve issues quickly and efficiently. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for long periods and lifting heavy objects when necessary. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well within a team.
