We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Shipping Clerk to help support our Aerospace business.  At L&P Aerospace, we specialize in creating complex tube and ductassemblies using high-performance materials capable of withstanding extreme pressure, temperature, and chemical interactions. How high are our quality standards, you ask?  So much so,that we have products supporting space launch vehicles, as well as US and European military fighter jets! If you join our team, your work will ensure families across the world fly a little safer, wherever their travels may take them.


As a Shipping Clerk you will have the opportunity to coordinate activities of workers responsible for picking up product and preparing it for same day shipping both nationally and internationally.
Pay Range: $24.00/hr. - $27.00/hr.

Benefits:  
Work Schedule:  Monday-Friday/Full time/40 hours per week on site (Remote work not available with position).  

 

Essential Functions:

Process Complete work orders for shipment: Tally order quanti ti es, run pre-invoices, prepare mill test report,prepare shipping packets, and schedule trucks for pick up Use lean manufacturing principles to study/standardize procedures, in order to improve effi ciency Contact shipping Logisti cs assigned Contact overseas companies for shipping instructi ons and prepare all export documents Close job fi les aft er shipments Issue box and give to Accounti ng Ensure correct shipment of all orders (local, internati onal, hazardous, etc.) to include accurate paperwork andaccountability of items Print daily shipping lists Coordinate with staff for scheduling daily deliveries and shipping needs (organize strategy) E-mail shipping paperwork electronically, locally, and Internati onally Prepare Duty Drawback paperwork on a quarterly basis Compile AES and Air Way bill necessary for orders Prepare Commodity Flow Survey on a quarterly basis Box all completed work orders and coordinate digital scanning/retenti on by vendor

 

Competencies:

Communication Proficiency Ability to Problem Solve inventory and transacti on discrepancies and analysis Proficiency in math skills Proficiency in interpreting/forecasting shipping needs to meet customer needs Technical Capacity of manufacturing processes Personal Effectiveness/Credibility/Ethics Proficiency in typing and 10-key Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, etc.) Desired proficiency utilizing Accuterm Well Organized Ability to multi-task


Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities  

 

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.  

 

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representati ve of those that must be met by an employee tosuccessfully perform the essenti al functi ons of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employeefrequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary.  

 

Travel:
No travel is expected for this position


Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent 1-2 years of planning experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience with purchasing / expediting / MRP / ERP systems | quality/continuous improvement initiatives | manufacturing safety practices | MS Office applications 

 

Preferred Education and Experience:
Associates degree and/or 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
