Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Shipping Coordinator responsible for preparing and shipping orders, ensuring all materials are accurately documented and packaged. This role involves operating forklifts, maintaining shipping records, and adhering to all safety and compliance standards within a chemical environment.
ResponsibilitiesPrepare orders for shipment and move materials within the warehouse to the shipping area.Package and prepare materials for shipment, including special preparation and paperwork for hazardous materials.Create required documentation for both domestic and foreign shipments, stamping, typing, or writing as needed.Affix appropriate labeling according to shipment requirements.Examine ongoing shipments to ensure they meet internal and external specifications and procedures.Maintain accurate shipping records and verify documentation for accuracy and completeness.Ship packages by mail, messenger, or identified carriers, using all relevant internal and external procedures.Operate forklift truck and hand truck to load shipments.Perform electronic system transactions to reflect movement of material and products.Assist in maintaining inventory of shipping materials and supplies to ensure adequate supplies are available.Actively participate in corporate and team continuous improvement and safety activities.Complete all required training and understand workplace hazards, taking steps to prevent and report any injuries, hazards, or malfunctioning equipment.Operate equipment and follow procedures in accordance with company, ISO, and OHSAS standards.Essential SkillsMinimum of a High school diploma (or GED equivalent).At least 2 years of related warehouse/shipping experience.Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.Experience with shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, inventory, and forklift operation.Proficiency in computer skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in shipping hazardous goods packages/freight via ground, air, and ocean.Hazardous goods certification(s): DOT, IATA, IMDG 49 CFR.Prior JDE or similar ERP system experience.Forklift license.Why Work Here?
