Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for a Shipping Coordinator 2 to join our Outbound Shipping Team based out of Salt Lake City, UT.
You are comfortable moving and positioning objects weighing up to 40 lbs. You have working knowledge of MS Office and internet applications, good communication skills and work well both independently, and in a team environment.
What you'll get to do:
Perform a combination of manual and clerical duties which include verification, scheduling, packaging, and processing shipments of products through pre-approved transportation services and computer systems including domestic, freight, and Hazmat shipments
Examine shipping documentation to obtain description and classification of freight to determine routing and arrange for shipment, considering such factors as nature of items being shipped, method of handling, size, schedule, and cost
Examine domestic freight rates and other charges for transportation services and select the most economical and efficient common or contract carrier for each item classified depending on the method of shipment and/or distance shipped
Trace shipments, calculate and record applicable charges for storage, re-delivery, etc. May reroute shipments of an urgent nature; arrange for special delivery at destination
Follows principle and operating practices and procedures
Use computer systems for tracking, logging, verifying, and reporting
Perform manual labor such as carrying boxes upstairs, downstairs, and use pallet jack to push and pull heavy items
Basic Qualifications:
HS Diploma or equivalent with 2 years of relevant work experience in transportation and/or outbound shipping activities
Must be able to individually lift, move, shift, carry a maximum of 40lbs regularly
Experience with transportation and shipping applications/software
Experience using computer systems for tracking, logging, verifying, and reporting
Must have valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Level Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with SAP
Experience in processing HAZMAT material according to IATA/DOT regulations
Experience using a pallet jack and driving equipment such as a forklift and box truck
Experience with military shipping and packaging requirements
Active Clearance

Salary Range: $36,300.00 - $60,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
