Job Title: Shipping Coordinator
Job Description

The Shipping Coordinator will coordinate and manage full truckload and LTL orders and schedule pickups. This individual will oversee outbound packages for transportation and assist in making sure all items are inspected, shipped, and processed on time while complying with company policies and guidelines. The Shipping Coordinator will ensure all scheduled shipments are available and loaded on time and within budget. The Shipping Coordinator also monitors and oversees outgoing shipping activities to verify items are shipping to the correct location and in good condition.

ResponsibilitiesReviewing sales orders, processing order changes, managing returns/cancellations, printing shipping labels, scheduling loads, and processing shipping paperworkCoordinate and oversee shipping services to ensure that orders are filled correctlyCommunicating with shippers to provide rates, managing large quantities of packages, and assisting with various routing tasksConfirm and ensure weights and package sizes (dims) are correctly posted, correct charges are applied, and packages are transacted properly inside the company inventory system to resolve issues with shipping ordersManage Shipping Orders and Invoices by reviewing shipping notices, orders, invoices, and other documents to ensure that the correct shipping methods (TL, LTL, Parcel, Air, Ocean) are used, and documentation is accurately stored in the company databaseAssist with inspecting loads and operations to make sure that they comply with shipping specifications and ensure proper use of warehouse spaceCompile required reporting and metrics in support of the business and departmentOther duties and tasks as assigned by managerEssential SkillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, external partners, and customersProficiency in logistics software and systems, such as transportation management systems (TMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systemsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically MS Excel for scheduling, tracking, and reportingKnowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to transportation and logistics operationsStrong organizational skills with attention to detailStrong analytical skills and proficiency in data gatheringFlexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlinesMust be an individual that pays keen attention to even the smallest of detailsMust have good judgment and decision-making abilitiesAdditional Skills & QualificationsProven experience of at least 2+ years of concrete and verifiable knowledge of shipping and/or logistics proceduresA minimum of high school diploma required or equivalentMust have direct shipping day-to-day experience performing routing, processing, and closing sales orders after pickup of shipments, maintaining safe and clean dock shipping areaMust be willing and able to work as part of a teamFrequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hearMust have a valid driver's licenseAbility to operate a computer keyboardAbility to read a variety of materialsAbility to sit for extended periods of timeAbility to carry 5-10 lbs. Work Environment

Hours are 1st shift - 7-4:30p/8a-5p with some overtime. The work environment is clean, non-climate controlled, and involves working in a large team setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Coppell, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $55000.00/yr.
