The Shipping Clerk works in the hand fulfillment department of the production facility. Their primary responsibility is to manually label and insert USPS Priority Mail, FedEx, UPS and 1st Class mail packages. The Shipping Clerk is responsible for printing labels and the appropriate documentation needed to complete jobs. The position includes making and packing boxes and handling thousands of packages a day with 100% accuracy.
As a shipping clerk you will prepare and package client orders and ensures they are shipped according to the job ticket and intended ship dates ensuring all special instructions are followed. Responsible for assisting both internal and external customers in a friendly and expeditious manner.
This position is required to be onsite in our new Production Facility in Fenton, MO.
What You'll Do:
Ability to read small print with speed and accuracy
Quality and attention to detail are extremely important and required to be 100% accurate
Match ALL labels generated to corresponding packages (UPS, FedEx, USPS Priority, etc)
Manually match id cards to letters to ensure members get correct completed packages
Complete all work in timely manner to meet carrier pick up times (USPS, PB, FedEx, UPS, DHL, Carrier)
Keeps area stocked and assist with ordering necessary materials to ensure proper inventory levels
Ability to have a flexible schedule is important because all work must be completed before leaving for the day
Resolve shipping issues by researching and tracking problem shipments in response to customer complaints or Client Services request
Self-motivated individual with excellent time management skills
Clean and organized
Ability to handle a pallet jack and move completed pallets to warehouse area
Good communication skills
Recognizes when to notify Production Supervisor of any fulfillment/shipping problems or quality issues, spoilage or reprints
Supports production staff in operating production equipment when needed
Follows all standard operating procedures and instructions relevant to the job, position and department accurately.
Follows established HIPAA, Compliance & Security policies & department policies, procedures, work instructions and safety and environmental guidelines.

What You'll Bring to Zelis:
Experience in a shipping and fulfillment environment preferred but not required
Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Must have basic computer skills (data entry, etc.).
High School diploma or equivalent GED required
Physical Factors & Requirements:
Stand for long periods of time
Frequent bending and stooping required
Finger dexterity and ability to read small print is required
Able to lift 50 lbs. or more
Reliable transportation to and from work
Use standard office equipment
Must be able to maintain good attendance
Must be willing to work overtime as needed, significant overtime may be required during busy periods (November/December/January)
