**Shipping Lead**
**POSITION SUMMARY**
The Shipping Lead is responsible for overseeing the preparation, packaging, and dispatch of materials and products from the facility. This role ensures that all outbound shipments are properly documented, meet quality standards, and are dispatched in a timely manner. The Shipping Lead supervises the shipping team, coordinates workflow, and ensures effective inventory management to support seamless operations.
**CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS**
+ Follows all policies and guidelines regarding workplace safety, product quality, and inventory control.
+ Successfully completes all site-specific training related to safety, quality, and shipping processes.
+ Supervises the preparation and packaging of materials and products for shipment, ensuring accuracy and adherence to customer requirements.
+ Verifies order quantities, packaging specifications, and shipping labels to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory standards.
+ Coordinates the loading of shipments, ensuring proper placement and securing of goods on transport vehicles.
+ Utilizes material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack) to move goods safely.
+ Documents shipments in the inventory management system (e.g., SAP, Oracle), ensuring accurate records of outgoing orders.
+ Maintains up-to-date shipping records and ensures timely delivery of shipments to customers.
+ Communicates effectively with internal teams (e.g., procurement, inventory, and production) and external carriers to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
+ Oversees the tracking of shipments, resolving any issues or discrepancies related to shipments or deliveries.
+ Assists in the training and development of new team members, ensuring compliance with shipping processes and safety protocols.
+ Conducts regular inspections of the shipping area to maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization.
+ Implements continuous improvement initiatives to enhance shipping processes, reduce errors, and optimize workflows.
+ Ensures adherence to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for the shipping team.
+ Prepares and submits reports related to shipping activities, inventory levels, and performance metrics.
**Organization Impact:** Contributes to division results and performance by ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient shipping operations.
**POSITION REQUIREMENTS**
**FORMAL EDUCATION:**
Required: High School Diploma or GED
**KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:**
Required:
+ Minimum 6 months of relevant experience in shipping, warehouse, or logistics roles.
+ Ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklift, pallet jack).
+ Proficient in using inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to manage shipping discrepancies.
+ Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
**DIMENSIONS**
**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:**
+ Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis.
+ Must be able to walk, write, and type frequently.
+ Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
+ Must be able to climb and descend stairs occasionally.
+ Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull occasionally.
+ Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
+ May work in noisy environments where hearing protection is required.
+ May be exposed to varying levels of dust and dirt.
+ Work surfaces may include concrete or warehouse floors.
+ Must be able to operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
+ Occasional travel to other locations, meetings, or seminars may be required.
Salary range:
$53,300.00 - $85,300.00
