Shipping Manager
**Job Title: Shipping Manager** **Job Description** The Shipping Manager will organize and oversee a team of employees and ensure that products are properly loaded for shipment in accordance with the shipping plan and quality and safety standards. **Responsibilities** + Ensure adherence to safe and efficient loading, unloading, and delivery standards in compliance with regulatory requirements. + Staff, train, evaluate, and develop shipping team members. + Monitor employee productivity and timekeeping. + Consult with production and fulfillment teams to plan and execute daily shipping plan for primary and 3rd party distribution centers. + Monitor freight movement using various computer software applications. + Ensure that product loads are built and delivered to company standards. + Manage transportation service provider relationships. + Develop, lead, and execute continuous improvement activities, such as safety, cost/efficiency, and engagement for shipping and transportation programs. + Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers. + Solve problems and resolve conflicts. + Effectively communicate to all levels of the organization. + Effectively manage company assets. + Ensure compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) laws and policies. + Handle other projects or duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + Strong supervisory and leadership skills. + Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. + Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. + Effective verbal and written communication skills. + Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet deadlines. + Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. + Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint); ERP experience is a plus. + Ability to manage and coordinate a variety of shipping methods. + Understanding of applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration requirements, DOT Regulations, and other related safety policies and best practices. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High School Diploma. + 5+ years of leadership experience in Transportation, Supply Chain, Logistics, and/or Distribution, with a strong preference for in customized manufacturing solutions. + Understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and inventory control. + Proficient with Microsoft Excel, including V lookups and pivot tables, and SAP ERP. + Must have a valid driver's license. **Why Work Here?** We offer great benefits including dental, medical, vision, and 401k, which are eligible from day one of employment (effective at the of the following month of start date). **Work Environment** Must be available to work between the hours of 7 AM and 6 PM. The work environment is clean but non-climate controlled.
