Job Overview As a part of the Shipping/Receiving Team, you are responsible for several bakery manufacturing activities. As a shipping/receiving operator 2 worker, you must be able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, be able to communicate and work effectively in a team structure and be flexible in work assignments within the shipping operator category. You must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions, safely and accurately complete assigned duties and maintain GMP standards. You will be a part of the Food Defense Team. Essential Functions Responsible for loading and unloading trucks, receiving raw materials and products, and picking, packing, wrapping, labeling, and/or shipping products using forklift and pallet jack. Maintain receiving/shipping logs and makes sure that incoming and outgoing products and material are in good condition. Move raw and packaging materials to the production area using the FIFO standard. Reports all equipment issues to the shipping/receiving supervisor or shipping manager as soon as possible. Understands and complies with all safety procedures that apply to daily operations. Work safely; follow proper lock out/tag out procedure where applicable. Maintains a safe and clean environment by adhering to safety policy and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) procedures. Maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude towards guests, customers, clients, coworkers, etc. Adheres to safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation. Bulk unload. Strong sense of time organization and urgency. May perform other duties not listed. Tools and Equipment. All tools and equipment which are required to be used by the employees shall be supplied and kept in repair by the Employer at no cost to the employee. These items must be kept on the premises. Minimum Requirements Ability to work night shift: Must pass Forklift written test and driver test that is given by the company. Spotter Experience – must pass evaluation. Education High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Previous safety training preferred. Must be able to operate a Forklift in a safe manner. Previous Shipping/Receiving experience preferred. Prior food industry experience a plus. Familiarity with bakery equipment preferred. Excellent communication skills. Work Environment This job operates in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment and manufacturing sites can be loud. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
