Shipping Operators perform a variety of duties to receive, distribute, assemble, and store finished goods into sales warehouse or customer locations as directed. They also perform materials receipt, disbursement, and related activities as directed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This is not meant as an all-inclusive list but as a top-level list of duties that this person generally completes:
Picks finished goods throughout the warehouse as required by sales order ship lists.Processes goods and supplies including unpacking, verifying, labeling, and distributing to appropriate location.Fills requisitions for goods and materials.Maintains and verifies accounting records for supplies received and dispensed.Coordinates appropriate shipping companies/departments when shipping items and educates user departments regarding shipping requirements.Assists in preparing shipping foods and relevant equipment.Uses/operates miscellaneous material handling equipment (dollies, pallet jack, forklift) to move materials.Performs physical inventories and cycle counts.Maintains the record of wait delivery requests and notifies the appropriate department supervisor of material and/or goods that are not on schedule.Maintain the logbooks up to date for optimum material flow.Makes inquiries of inventory to ensure adequate supplies are on hand.Reports shortages to supervisor.Performs other related material handling activities including maintaining proper documentation of all incoming and outgoing materials and keeping physical inventories.Exercises care in handling materials.The following must be included for all positions:Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicableResponsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.Performs other duties assigned as needed.A pre-identified candidate is being considered for this role. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year.
