**ABOUT THE ROLE**
We are a fast paced production environment seeking field operators interested in continuous hands-on learning opportunities with manufacturing systems and skills. Must be self driven, and a self driven safety leader. Should enjoy the autonomy and responsibility of off shift work with a tight knit set of co-workers. Multi tasking and juggling priorities is a daily routine and with that comes a need for sound judgment.
**WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH**
+ Lafarge Holcim’s Seattle plant is in need of Production/Shipping operators to run its grinding and shipping operations on the Duwamish River in West Seattle.
+ The 24/7 operation brings raw materials in on ocean going vessels, drys, and grinds the material in 2,500 hp ball mills.
+ The facility markets & sells 7 different cementitious products and ships finished products in bulk bags, truck, rail and barge.
+ Over a period of time, the position can offer opportunities to learn about, and work with, all activities at the facility, which include marine operations, heavy equipment such as a forklifts/skidsteers/loaders/excavators, industrial manufacturing equipment & automation, business computer systems, customer facing activity, railroad operations, water management systems, and environmental stewardship systems.
+ Operating motorized equipment including power tools, grinders, saws, and hammers and performing general construction labor to include jobsite clean-up and moving of materials by hand.
+ Ensure the safety of company personnel, the community, and the environment
+ Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR**
**Education:** High school Diploma or equivalent
**Required Work Experience:** Thorough knowledge of Cement plants operati
**Required Technical Skills:** Thorough knowledge of heavy industry milling equipment (conveying systems, gearboxes, rotary dryer, ball mill, bucket elevator, etc)
**Additional Requirements:**
+ Demonstrated ability to successfully complete task with minimal direction
+ Ability to complete task efficiently and safely
+ Ability to follow instruction
+ Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
