Summary

Directs and coordinates activities concerned with the documentation and routing of outgoing and incoming freight.Directs activities assigning load to loaders; scheduling LTL, verifying inbound and outbound appointments. Preparing billings from tariff, complete manual BOL according to type and weight of freight or merchandise.Ensuring that each load gets shipped correctly and timely to avoid missing deliveries or lost goods.Ensure that inbound are received in a timely manner and are directed accordingly.Communication with yard jockey and security to coordinate trailer placement.Communication with carriers and brokers to keep appointments aligned.Reviews documents to ensure that assigned classifications and tariffs are in accordance with mode of transportation and destination of shipment.Investigates shipper or consignee complaints regarding lost or damaged merchandise or shortages in shipment to determine responsibility.Verify and maintain records of incoming and outgoing goods.Strong sense of time organization and urgency.Able to work independently and within a team.

Education and Experience

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (NOT SURE ABOUT THIS)

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as volume and sums.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
