The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Facilities has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Shipping & Receiving Clerk to work at UHealth Medical Campus in Miami, FL.

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk performs manual labor necessary for the efficient operation of Moving, Shipping and Receiving operations. Individual must be able to move offices, lab furniture and equipment. Must be able to perform special events setup and dismantling for all branches (Medical, Coral Gables, RSMAS) including satellite locations (Deerfield, Palm Beach, Boca, Gables One, Weston and Kendall).

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Records shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability.Unpacks materials and supplies and ensures accuracy.Makes delivery of items received to appropriate location or department.Reports damages and discrepancies for accounting, reimbursement, and record-keeping purposes.Retrieves surplus equipment or supplies.Requests product return authorizations and processes required documents.Tracks orders and enters information regarding order and delivery details into appropriate database.Responds to inquiries and concerns regarding ordered items.Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

Department Specific Functions

Individual in this position will work under supervision 70% of the time and independently 30% of the timeAssist drivers with off-loading deliveries and bringing all received supplies and equipment into the receiving area.Handle large equipment such as: Incubators, Fume Hoods, Sterilizers, Microscopes, Refrigerators, Freezers all sizes, shakers, etc.Verify the accuracy of all shipments; note any damages on shipper’s bill of lading, any shortages and overagesReports inaccuracies to Manager.Deliver materials and supplies, animal feed, and packages throughout the Medical CampusPrepares packages to ship out via FedEx, UPS, or FreightPrepares all necessary documents for receiving signature upon deliveryFiles all documents related to Shipping and ReceivingResponsible for lifting and/or moving heavy items such as office and lab furniture, miscellaneous equipment, setting up, dismantling, and moving throughout the medical campusResponsible for tool and moving equipment assigned on jobsAssist departments with confidential information to storage facility.Work in shipping and receiving delivering boxes.Other duties as assigned.

As part of the operations for Moving/Receiving & Stockroom all clerks are expected to work interchangeable and cross train to cover staff shortage.
Help stockroom when assigned as a “floater” on work schedule.

Opening and closing the doors during normal business hours of 7:30am - 4:30pm.Signing for all packages with the correct address of 1600 NW 10th Avenue and a valid PO.Troubleshooting orders with customer and/or office if information is missing such as address or PO.Disposing trash and keeping the stockroom cleanDispense and deliver orders to techs.Assist with inventory count annually.Oversee the counter as required.Run to stores and vendors for supplies as needed.Other duties as related to the stockroom operations.
