Shipping & Receiving Clerk

POSITION SUMMARY 

The Material Handler is part of the Shipping/Receiving team, receiving materials into the plant, distributing them to the appropriate personnel or process, and often moving materials from one internal process to another. Responsible for moving material to routed departments, managing scrap, material identification, order numbers, and understanding of the material routing system. Responsible for properly processing all material movement within inventory systems, including raw steel, unfinished components, and finished components. The position will also manage finished goods inventory inbound/outbound for shipments and processes transactions. 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

Receiving: Unload trucks, obtain appropriate documentation, verify product delivery quality and accuracy, receive product into computer system, work orders, POs and finished product 

Issuing: material both physically and in the computer system 

Moving Material: throughout the plant both physically and in the computer system, pulling material, bringing material to the lines, moving finished to shipping, unloading trucks, putting stock in appropriate locations 

Shipping: miscellaneous packaging duties to prepare finished product, loading product for transportation 

Ability to read blueprints, routings, manufacturing instruction sheets, visual aids or other instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 

Provide support for the cycle count program 

Maintain accurate and organized records 

Manage the sellout processes both incoming and outgoing. 

Ability to become a certified forklift (Sit-down and Stand-up), overhead crane, and combilift operator

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 

High school diploma or equivalent.
