Job Description

About the role:

The position is responsible for the receiving, segregation, sorting, and storage of human blood plasma in preparation of plasma production runs in the Teardown department. Manufacturing Technician II will perform basic troubleshooting tasks for the Automated Plasma Dispositioning System (APDS) Sorting Line.  Under the direction of a Supervisor or Lead Operator, Technician II is responsible for executing all processes in production, while strictly adhering to cGMP, environmental health and safety guidelines and other related regulations that could apply. Technician II is expected to participate in both departmental projects and any quality working teams when applicable. Assigned training records must be kept up to date.  Due to business need, employees may be required to work overtime and/or support operations on an alternate shift.

How you will contribute:Support all local manufacturing activities in Plasma OperationsClean production area per cGMPParticipate on Continuous Improvement teamsPerform plasma loading, carton opening, carton disposal, and MES functions to support APDS sorting line operations based on Teardown plasma schedulePerform disposition reconciliationPerform cycle counts, bin diving, inventory count, and pallet spot checkSegregate plasma units to be processed with an “On Hold” or “Quarantine” statusFollow basic safety rules, SOPs, cGMP, work rules and company policiesComplete and/or verify documentation following GDPOperate PIT equipment, including forklift and pallet jackPerform truck receiving transactions in APDSPerform unloading and segregation of plasma arriving from donor centersPerform mandatory stretching at start of shift according to the department stretching programTransfer Plasma to Manufacturing areas safely and timelyMay perform removal of hazardous waste, if applicable

What you bring to Takeda:High school diploma or GED plus 1+ years of related experience, or AA or higher with no prior experience required.Must be proficient in written and oral EnglishMust have good written and verbal communication skills and understanding of cGMP regulationsGood procedural writing skillsMust be able to read and follow detailed written instructionsMust be able to apply quantitative analysis to analyze process performanceMust be proficient in a variety of mathematical disciplines and be able to work with both the metric and USA standards of measurementGood interpersonal skills and be able to work effectively and efficiently in a team environmentMay require weekend and holiday work. Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE)Knowledge of basic chemical and biological safety proceduresMay require immunization before performing work within the manufacturing areaMust have basic computer skills

Important Considerations

Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility.Will be exposed to warehouse and manufacturing areas at +5°C and -20°C or colderWill be exposed to human blood plasmaMay be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and other clean room garments daily. This may include safety shoes, safety glasses, aprons, face shields, lab coats, full body gowns, hair nets and gloves and hearing protection.Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.Work in a cold, wet environment.Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.More about us:

U.S. Hourly Wage Range:

$18.85 - $29.62

The estimated hourly wage range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual hourly wage offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term incentives.
