Overview:

The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor is responsible for organizing and directing all inbound and outbound warehousing functions while ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality.

They will ensure all orders are shipped in a timely fashion and follows up on any late or missing shipments.

The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor will coordinate plant movements through the dedicated fleet and TMS management system to ensure loads are completed and closed throughout the day. This role proactively drives the production plan to meet the fill rate targets and customer lead times.  They are responsible for letting the plant team know what is needed for daily shipments.

The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor will ensure accurate inventory of materials and products across present warehouses.  And will be responsible for conducting periodic inventory analysis to improve inventory efficiencies; and implementing inventory control procedures.

What you will do:

Monitor quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of goods.Ensure work force needs for warehouse shifts are met.Create & implement procedures to send, load, & sort outgoing freight accurately & efficiently.Review layout & product slotting to maximize order-pulling efforts & minimize errors.Lead the implementation of special projects for Warehouse Management which may include standardized training for warehouse employees and the introductions of Warehouse Management Systems (barcoding & scanning of all products & storage locations in the warehouse). Create and lead implementation of routine Warehouse Management tools and practices including PFEP, bin management and ABC Cycle Counting.Train and develop warehouse personnel to achieve departmental objectives and to increase a given employee’s capacity to assume additional responsibilities in the future.

Required qualifications:

Associates degree (AA) preferred or High School diploma and 5 years' experience with warehouse management within a manufacturing or distribution environment.Previous Supervisor or Team Leader experience in a similar work environmentStrong knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures as they relate to material flow.
