In Sheboygan Falls we heavily support medical, food, and graphic arts customers with thin gauge plastic sheeting for thermoforming and printing applications. You’ve most likely seen a product that was made from materials from our plant—iTunes cards, Home Depot signs, even the covers of comic books. We are currently looking for associates to join our production teams to support our variety of customers. Job Summary
Directs and coordinates activities of the warehouse which includes shipping and receiving, maintaining inventories of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
+ Maintain inventory of manufactured products and raw materials; ensure maximization of usage and minimization of waste; work to keep inventory at acceptable levels and meet required supply by utilizing FIRST IN FIRST OUT (FIFO). Coordinate deliveries of all materials used in production.
+ Review records for accuracy of information and determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommend remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
+ Supervise shipping/receiving/inventory/warehouse function and employees; ensure performance of duties and conformance to policies and procedures, train on safety and other procedures and work with them to maintain appropriate performance levels.
+ Maintain databases with customer delivery schedules, availability of raw materials, inventory information, warehousing information, and develop reports as needed.
+ Implement strategies for scrap reduction.
+ Manage incoming and outgoing shipping activities to assure deliver accuracy, completeness and condition of shipment.
+ Conduct regular communication meetings with crews to include safety, quality, continuous improvement, work area order, policy changes, and state of business concerns.
+ Regular attendance.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Duties may also include:
+ Manage and/or assist in developing production planning and scheduling to establish lead times and meet customer orders on appropriate lines and adjust as appropriate. Interface with plant manager, production supervision, shipping, materials and customer service concerning scheduling development and issues; communicate to production and other affected functions for execution. Work with customer with possible scheduling conflicts and review/revise schedule to meet customer demands.
+ Request and plan material arrivals with purchasing department to meet production needs.
+ Maintain traceability of the material through the production process.
+ Maintain the equipment and outside grounds used to support manufacturing.
+ Administer recycling programs and reports.
+ Assist/cover for the Frieght Coordinator when needed.
Requirements
+ High School diploma or equivalent.
+ Minimum five years' experience in shipping, receiving and warehousing function.
+ Experience negotiating directly with outside vendors preferred.
+ Minimum two years production supervisory experience, preferably in warehousing.
+ Certified for fork truck operation; trained or certified to handle hazardous materials.
+ Minimum one year of experience with production planning/scheduling preferred.
+ Experience working with ERP system, preferably with Oracle.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
+ Strong knowledge of shipping/receiving/warehousing function, methods and procedures.
+ Knowledge of production and material planning/scheduling and purchasing.
+ Knowledge of accounting principles and reporting, preferably in production environment.
+ Knowledge of hazardous materials and related regulations.
+ Knowledge of materials used in Spartech products.
+ Knowledge of ERP system functionality desired, preferably in Oracle.
+ Ability to compile, analyze and report warehousing and financial information.
+ Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
+ Ability to successfully interface with all levels and types of internal and external individuals, including vendors.
+ Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
+ Ability to write simple correspondence.
+ Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situation to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
+ Ability to perform mathematical calculations, including rates, percentages, ratios, volume, etc. and create effective reporting.
