Job Title: Shipping & Routing Coordinator
Location: Lakeville Distribution Center Department: Distribution Administration - East Coast
Job Objective: Responsible for ensuring that all shipping and receiving documents and functions are completed accurately and on time. Communicates with customers, associates, carriers, wave routing team, and coordinates outbound freight schedule and inbound deliveries.
Primary Responsibilities:
Working with the wave routing team and the Outbound Dock Team Leader, schedule outbound freight to comply with customer and carrier requirements (preventing chargebacks to the company). Determine outbound freight schedules based on a number of factors including number of pallets to be shipped, space availability, future orders, order priorities, promise dates, and carriers. Contact carriers to advise them when to pick up freights based on the days schedule. Ensure proper labels and tickets have been applied before shipping. Ensure good security habits are adhered to at dock doors. Ensure the accuracy of all receiving and shipping documents. Gather and maintain all data and records relative to shipping and receiving activities. Enter data into WMS and other TMS systems. Utilize data to maximize container cubing for outbound shipments. Assist in resolving any discrepancies identified through WMS. Collect all documentation for inbound freight and route to the proper internal contact. Request quotes from carriers for internal and external shipments. Safety: Comply with OSHA, Acushnet Safety, and other appropriate standards. Participate in outbound dock safety audits. Ensure the Distribution Center is in compliance with the most up-to-date routing guides for national accounts. Assist in developing SOP documents for DC tasks. Participate in system and procedural testing and training.Experience: Minimum of 5 yrs work experience in a distribution center. Requires 2 years WMS experience with a focus on outbound shipping. Two years' experience with shipping and receiving operations required. Demonstrated attention to detail in an administrative capacity by updating records in paper and system formats. Experience with personal computers, vendor routing and TMS systems, and RF scanning equipment is preferred. Requires good judgment and decision-making ability. Communication skills, both oral and written, are essential. Simple math skills required. Special Requirements: Must have responsible work habits.
Physical Requirements/Environmental Factors: Will work on outbound dock area and adjacent office. Responsible for ensuring shipments are complete before loading process begins.
