Job Summary

A shipping specialist performs a range of tasks related to the transportation of goods across borders, such as preparing and reviewing shipping documents, communicating customer service, ensuring goods are properly packed, and verifying shipping costs. They also need to maintain accurate records of the inventory, shipment details, and customer information in the shipping system or database, as well as follow up on the delivery. Additionally, they provide customer service and support. All of these activities help them to arrange the delivery and pickup of goods, track their status, and resolve any issues or delays.

Job Responsibilities Manage outgoing shipping logistics for cargo transportation carriers and shipping companies. Process orders including accurate checking, sorting and consolidating freight, wrapping pallets, loading and unloading shipments of customer orders. Know how to safely use moving equipment: dollies, pallet jacks Ensure document control BOL, certificate of origin, and waybill accompany shipments. Process orders for shipment using FedEx, DHL, and independent carriers. Provide fast and accurate processing of all material according to DHL polices and procedures. Maintain organization and cleanliness of multiple warehouses. Coordinate logistics for the shipment of goods from the country of origin to the destination, including selecting appropriate shipping methods and routes to optimize delivery times and costs. Prepare and process necessary export documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin to comply with international trade regulations. Liaise with customs brokers to ensure that shipments meet all applicable laws and regulations, and to facilitate the smooth clearance of goods through customs. Job Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications

• High School degree or GED equivalent.

• 3+ years of Manufacturing or Warehousing and logistics experience, including some ERP/ MRP experience.

•    Must be a US Person (Us Citizen or Permanent Resident) per program requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• GKN experience.

• SAP Experience

• Value Stream Mapping, & Lean experience.

•Manufacturing Systems.

• Strong problem solving skills.

• Project Management.

• APICS Basics of Supply Chain Management (BSCM) or equivalent.

• Transport Management.

• Packaging.

• Material Handling Equipment.

Mental and Physical Demands:

Lift up to 50 pounds Compensation Range

The compensation for this position is between $27.50 - $35.00 per hour.
