Shipping Supervisor The Opportunity: Come work as a Shipping Supervisor at a growing company with opportunities to advance and learn alongside accomplished leaders in the Corrugated Packaging industry. Our goal is to grow and inspire future leaders for the Calgary facility and ultimately for Smurfit Westrock. The development process will also include leading teams, being assigned projects, leading a departmental shift, and developing technical skills. Job Responsibilities * Ensure that inbound and outbound loads are created and scheduled to best meet customer requirements. * Verify that all paperwork for shipping and receiving is processed in a timely manner. * Liaise with management / staff of external warehouses to ensure that all Smurfit Westrock standards are being followed. * Managing all 3PL providers. * Timely completion of all paperwork associated with production issues, transfers, and returns. * Verifying all counts, quantities and descriptions of materials begin shipped and received. * Daily completion of all inventory transactions related to the shipping and receiving department. * Daily counts and paperwork associated with counts. * Monthly inventories as needed. * Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment. * Responsible for verifying all load reports and ensuring an accurate record of materials being shipped. * Supervise a department of 12 - 15 employees. What you Need to Succeed: * College/University degree is an asset. * Previous experience in a Shipping Department/and or Inventory Control. * Industrial Manufacturing experience preferred. * Two plus years of supervisory or team lead experience preferred. * Must be proficient with Excel spreadsheets and data entry. * Knowledge of AS400 system or KIWI is a plus. * Strong focus and shared passion towards on Safety and Quality. * Six Sigma / Lean knowledge is a plus. * Strong attention to detail. * Proven leadership skills and an ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels. * Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
