WHEN YOU JOIN US YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE TO;

Ensures appropriate initial and ongoing training of employees in safety, forklifts and operational standard operating procedures and objectives.Supervises employees in the shipping department (6 Shippers and 1 Shipping Clerk).Utilizes planning and organizational skills in coordination of the shipping team to effectively maximize their time as it applies to shipping all outbound shipmentsDevelops standard work and ensures shippers and the shipping clerk are engaged and trained in all the shipping and receiving processes in the plant.Oversee the daily activities of the warehouse area of responsibility, including labor scheduling, supervision and the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS).Plans distribution services including receiving, storing, shipping, handling, maintenance and administrative activities to ensure customer requirements are met.Interacts with administrative and management staff to facilitate inventory control, shipping and receiving process changes and improvements.Ensures documentation for all shipments is completed accurately and timely according to respective government regulations, company policy, and customer specifications.Leads and participates in Quarterly inventory process.Acts as the ASRS expert for the site and is technically proficient with the system which is a one of kind (within IKO) vertical finished goods storage warehouse.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE;

5 – 8 years Shipping supervisory or relevant experience in a manufacturing environment required.Candidates must be proficient in the use of computers and can communicate effectively with all levels of employees. i.e., shippers, supervisors, and managers using both verbal and written communicationExcellent communication (written, verbal, presentation and listening) and analytical skills.Proven track record of operational improvement through employee engagement.Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.Ability to grow and mentor talent.Possesses strong process and financial acumen.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Experience with an ERP system preferably JDE and a Warehouse Management System (WMS).Bachelor’s degree preferredTechnical and operational experience with an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (Automated vertical warehouse system) preferred.  If there is no experience, has the ability to learn and become the plant expert on the ASRS system.Advanced analytical skills, and creativity in solving problems/troubleshooting with shipping systems to include ASRS.Experience working with a plant start-up would be ideal but not required.
