Basic Job Functions: Responsibilities for the Shipping Supervisor include but are not limited to: + Must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards. + A commitment to Safety, Environmental, Quality, Productivity, and profitability through leadership throughout the division. + Overseeing the safe operations of shipping metal building components as prescribed by specifications and order releases. + Managing logistics, carrier relationships, freight costs, and delivery schedules to ensure a low cost and on time deliveries. + Familiarity of machinery and material handling processes for each aspect within the department. + Communications within the group to ensure solid teamwork and a productive work environment. + Reviewing teammate performance and determining coaching needs through evaluating and providing consistent performance reviews and setting expectations during coaching or growth & development sessions. + Interviewing, hiring, and accountability decisions for teammates within the group. + Travel with short notice. To best-mark with other Nucor divisions to improve our services, quality, products, and competitiveness. Long Text Description + Develop the members of the department beyond the basic functions of their role including, but not limited to, business acumen, people skills, and the like to help them reach their full potential. + Actively engage with the Production Manager and other members of Division Leadership to strategically plan and execute initiatives to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and profitability. + Responsibilities will include the shipping operations at Terrell, TX as well as coordination with Eufaula, AL. + [[cust_safetyState]] Minimum Qualifications: + 2 years leadership experience including overseeing direct reports and experience with coaching and mentoring + Experience with Microsoft Office + High School Diploma or GED Preferred Qualifications: + 2-4 year experience in shipping and metal buildings + Strong knowledge of forklift operations and their related safety concerns + Strong knowledge of overhead crane operations and their related safety concerns + Experience with troubleshooting production lines and material handling systems Nucor is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer M/F/Disabled/Vets and a drug free workplace
