Shop Helper
**Job Title: Shop Helper** **Job Description** The Shop Helper will primarily assist in the final production stages, focusing on cutting frames in the wood shop and the hollow metal shop. This role also involves assisting in the stain/paint area, with the main area being the wood shop. Additionally, the Shop Helper will help with loading and staging products for trucks and may assist with deliveries when necessary. Duties include using various power tools to drill holes and install hardware on doors, routing areas for hinges, cutting angles for corners, and installing glass in doors and side panels. The individual will also perform grinding, finishing, and applying spot putty to fill holes. **Responsibilities** + Cut frames in the wood shop and hollow metal shop. + Assist in the stain/paint area. + Load and stage products for trucks. + Assist with deliveries as needed. + Use impacts, power tools, and punches to drill holes and install hardware on doors. + Cut holes in doors for handles and glass plates. + Route areas for hinges by hand or using a machine. + Attach hardware as required. + Cut angles for corners. + Install glass in doors and side panels. + Perform grinding, finishing, and apply spot putty to fill holes. **Essential Skills** + Ability to read blueprints. + Proficiency with assembly and installation tasks. + Skilled in using a tape measure. + Experience with woodworking. + Proficient with power tools. + General labor experience. + 1 year of production experience. + Attention to detail, especially for high-end finishing. + Willingness to learn and be trained in new techniques and materials. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Preferred: Valid driver's license for operating company vehicles. **Why Work Here?** The team offers a supportive environment that emphasizes learning and training. There is no air conditioning, but the shop is equipped with numerous doors and fans for ventilation. The team consists of 8-10 members, and you will receive training from the production supervisor. The working hours are Monday to Thursday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, and Fridays from 8 AM to 12 PM. There is a rotation back to a full Monday-Friday schedule.
