Power-Flo Technologies is seeking a shop laborer to join our New Hyde Park shop. The shop laborer will support building electrical equipment such as custom panelboards, switchboards, pullboxes, cabinets, retrofits, and more. 

 

Full Time. Monday – Friday, 7 AM – 3:30 PM.

Pay Range: $18 - $22/hour

Shop Laborer Responsibilities :

Assist welders, assemblers, mechanics, and technicians on-siteWorking with design team to complete switchgear packagesMeasuring and cutting materials to specificationsAssembly of switchboard enclosures and interior electrical componentsUse power tools, hand tools, and other machineryChecking finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprintsPreparing completed packages for shipmentFollow company safety guidelines at all times

Shop Laborer Necessary Qualifications

Ability to work independently and in a team settingFamiliar with taking measurements and working with a rulerFamiliar with assembling componentsAble to follow instructions in a proper mannerFamiliar with shop tools (hand tools, power tools, etc)Basic knowledge regarding use of a PCMechanically inclinedCompetent with the use of electrical test equipment, i.e. Multi meter, shop tools, hand tools, pneumatic tools, hoists, etc.A valid and clean driver's license to operate company vehicles as needed
 

Shop Laborer Physical Requirements :

Ability to stand for up to 8 Hours.Ability to lift 50 pounds.Ability to work on elevated platforms.Ability to climb ladders.This position may require standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching and/or reaching.You may be exposed to dust, loud noises, and hot and cold conditions.Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills may be required for hand tools, power tools, and other machinery.
