Job Summary
This Shop Manager role is based in Roush Entertainment Systems and will manage the shop team, focusing on encouraging and motivating team members to promote problem-free, productive shop operations. The Shop Manager will manage the day-to-day activities of the shop team members to ensure the team meets the project assembly and production scope, schedule and budgetary goals. The Shop Manager will provide continual support and coaching to employees to help ensure they are fully engaged in achieving success. The role will monitor performance against operational goals and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and initiatives. The Shop Manager will collaborate and communicate with leaders, shop team members, other departments, customers and management. This position is located in Orlando, FL.
 

As a Shop Manager, you will:Manage staff, prepare work schedules, and assign specific dutiesDevelop work plans coordinating any specialty equipment requirements necessary to supportMonitor and evaluate staff performance including productivity, quality, goal setting and disciplineReview and assist in management of monthly financial business performanceForecast and plan manpower requirements and participate in the hiring processConduct training for continuous skills improvementFoster a productive and safe working environmentManage shop organization and clean-up ensuring safety standards and procedures are followedEnsure shop equipment is maintained properlyEnsure adherence to company and industry regulationsMonitor and anticipate industry trends and advances in technology and equipmentTo be considered a Shop Manager, you will need:High school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 9 years of automotive, manufacturing, or related experience, including 4 years of people management experienceExperience in managing and developing processesExcellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and customer relationship management skillsWorking knowledge in the use and operation of various industrial shop equipmentExcellent knowledge of mechanical assembly and ability to operate shop equipmentAble to supervise, mentor, coach, and train team membersStrong computer skills and knowledge in MS Office including Word, Excel, and OutlookKnowledge in the development of work instructions and Statements of Work (SOW)A successful candidate may also have:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business, Operations Management, or relatedExperience in any of the following areas is highly preferred: theme park ride and show equipment, electro-mechanical assembly or mechatronicsExperience in management and operationsAbility to implement and manage preventative maintenance schedulesUnderstanding of automotive prototype, manufacturing, or similar industry standard practicesAbility to read blueprints and drawings
