JOB SUMMARY:

The warehouse associate is responsible for inventory management and the proper warehousing of project material and tools. This includes but is not limited to receiving and shipping of goods, documenting material inventories, assigning locations to received material in the warehouse, pulling material from the warehouse in preparation for shipment or pickup by others, and operating the warehouse tools used in these activities. This person will work with department and project managers to ensure their project material is accurately documented for receipts and distribution. This person will also work with the office management in coordinating and forecasting warehousing needs.

Position is located in Charlotte, North Carolina

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensures effective utilization and organization of warehouse area and maintains proper loading, unloading, stocking and safekeeping of all project materials and tools.

Manages warehouse daily operations by ensuring performance related to safety, security to prevent inventory loss, and compliance with state and federal regulations; to include OSHA, Hazardous Waste, DOT, FDA, EPA, and others.

Effectively controls and manages the flow of inventory and tools in and out of the warehouse area.

Coordinate with project or department managers for the receipt and delivery of material deliveries to customers, contractors and job sites.

Inventory all received material to identify missing items to report to the assigned project or department manager.

Ensures accuracy of all inventory and tool documentation that is received into and out of the warehouse, to include performing random inventory checks.

Gather materials from shop stock for jobs and label all bags and/or boxes of material.

Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.

Maintain a basic working knowledge of fire protection (fire alarm, fire sprinkler, suppression, and extinguisher) materials and tools.

Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Demonstrate a high-level of customer service with a strong work ethic and the ability to work within a team environment.

Strong organizational skills, positive-attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.

At least 1 year of experience working in a warehouse environment.

Strong basic math skills, with an ability to perform accurate calculations for inventory and shipping.

Experience in making deliveries and ensuring timely and secure transport of materials.

Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, with the ability to create and maintain documentation efficiently.

Proven experience in inventory management, including accurate tracking, stocking, and reporting.

Prior hands-on experience with material handling processes such as purchasing, receiving, warehousing, shipping, and inventory control.

Mechanically inclined, with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn fire protection materials and tools.

Skilled in operating pallet jacks, forklifts, telehandlers, and other standard warehouse equipment.

Be able to spend significant time standing and walking in a warehouse and job sites with

the capability to move and carry loads that could weigh up to 80lbs in non-conditioned

environments.

Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required. MVR checks are required for all driving positions.
