Overview Responsible for to maintaining the operations and appearance of MasTec Renewables’s equipment including assessment, diagnosis, replacement and repair. This position is eligible for a tool and boot allowance. This is an onsite position. This is an hourly position (overtime eligible), pay range $23.81-$36.87, typically working 9 hour days, five days a week. MasTec’s Clean Energy and Infrastructure Group (CE&I) is a $4 billion annual revenue business unit that provides construction services for industrial facilities; building products manufacturers, power generation facilities, manufacturing plants; solar, wind, and thermal energy plants; buildings, and infrastructure. Responsibilities Perform maintenance and preventative maintenance on all equipment, troubleshooting, determine if repairs will be done in the Wanzek shop or outsourced Update tool inventory Properly complete a JHA prior to any work function that poses a potential of injury Operate equipment to diagnose problems and inspect equipment for defects Ensure all equipment has an equipment ID (logo, unit numbers, digital photos) Maintain proper record keeping DOT Issues: verify USDOT annual inspections in trucks and on file in office Equipment safety (i.e., backup alarms, lights, seat belts, fire extinguishers, rigging, etc.) Show a general interest in all basic machines, including crane safety (anti two blocks, rigging, crane maintenance daily logbook/annual inspection, etc.); investigate or question others to ensure logs and two blocks are correct, etc. Occasionally travel to jobsites for repairs and inspections, review field maintenance to ensure it is done properly and review maintenance reports Review maintenance records and major repairs with operators and superintendents to ensure crews are self-sufficient and responsible for their own maintenance Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair Communicate to obtain needed parts Document all work performed and recommended on the repair order Road test vehicles when required Report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor Keep shop area neat and clean Maintain and account for all shop tools and manuals; return them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received Understand, keep abreast of, and comply with federal, state and local regulations such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc. Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner Report any safety issues immediately to management Other duties as assigned Qualifications Qualifications (Level I) Certificate from college or technical school in Diesel or Automotive Technology preferred One to two years related experience preferred Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred Qualifications (Level II) Certificate from college or technical school in Diesel or Automotive Technology preferred Five years relevant experience One or more of the following certifications: Electrical diagnostics and repair cert, A/C system diagnostics and repair cert, Welding Certification, OEM certification (JD Tech, CAT Tech, Case IH Tech, Komatsu Tech, Ford, Kenworth, Liebherr), etc. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Zero Injury principles Ability to read schematics Ability to complete all aspects of Original Equipment Manufacturer recommended services for engine, transmission, and hydraulic systems on construction equipment and vehicles Ability to track and maintain records of completed work and update status of open work orders Ability to complete scheduled maintenance tasks including but not limited to: wheel and tire changes, cutting edge replacement, DOT inspections, services Ability to identify and request parts and complete repairs using OEM manuals Ability to use digital systems such as email, phone/tablet for inspections and photos, time tracking application, digital OEM manuals Willingness to learn Ability to work efficiently, independently and follow through on assignments Ability to work well with others Strong problem-solving skills What's in it for you: Financial Wellbeing Compensation $23.81-$36.87 / hour, commensurate with experience Tool & Boot Allowance Competitive pay with ongoing performance review and merit increase 401(k) with company match & Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) Flexible spending account (Healthcare & Dependent care) Health & Wellness Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance (plan choice) - coverage for spouse, domestic partner, and children Diabetes Management, Telehealth Coverage, Prescription Drug Plan, Pet Insurance Family & Lifestyle Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, Bereavement Leave Military Leave, including Differential Pay and Benefits Continuation Employee Assistance Program Planning for the Unexpected Short and long-term disability, life insurance, and accidental death & dismemberment Voluntary life insurance, accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity coverage Emergency Travel Assistance Program Group legal plan Position may be subject to pre-employment screening, which may include background check and drug testing.
