This position performs work on gas compression equipment components and instruments (e.g., pumps, controllers, valves, etc.) at shop location under general supervision.
Principle Responsibilities and Duties Responsible for performing work on gas compression equipment components and instruments (pumps, controllers, valves, etc.) Knows standard operating procedures relative to gas compressor maintenance and repair. Gaining proficiency to accurately and efficiently diagnose mechanical problems. Replace and overhaul small compressors, checking bearings, crankshaft, etc. Disassembles gas compressor parts and equipment. Cleans gas compressor parts and equipment. Reassembles parts (assistance may be required). Gaining engine repair proficiency on all make and models. Can complete tasks without direction. Adheres to all company and government safety regulations. Attends required safety meetings. Generate basic parts list. Understand customer scope and communicate any discrepancies and provide suggested corrective actions and assist in defining new scope before continuing. Charge labor and material to correct work order and assist Level I Mechanics. Maintain a clean and safe work area to include proper disposal of waste. Qualified for Forklift operation QualificationsA high school diploma or an equivalent 5-10 years’ experience in engine, compressor mechanics, production equipment and gas compression. Has own tools Valid driver’s license Ability to read, write, speak and understand basic English Working knowledge of relevant HSE Mechanical skills, welding skills, and pipe fitting skills. Electronics (panel) skills, hydraulic skills, tubing skills, math skills, English skills, writing skills, and analytical skills. Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly/frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and Infrequently/occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques
