**Job Title: Shop Supervisor**
**Job Description**
We are looking for a motivated individual with experience in structural steel fabrication to join our team as a Shop Supervisor. You will supervise and coordinate the activities of production and operating workers, such as precision workers, machine operators, welders and fitters, fabricators, and material handlers. In this role, you will recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality. You will interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
**Responsibilities**
+ Evaluate employee performance and make recommendations to management.
+ Design and develop training for new hires across multiple positions and skillsets.
+ Develop evaluation reports that clearly and objectively measure performance during the training period.
+ Closely monitor, supervise, and effectively teach the fundamentals and foundational skills of shop fabrication including all safety standards.
+ Communicate effectively with new employees to ensure training is easily comprehended.
+ Evaluate training programs consistently to make recommendations for continuous improvement.
+ Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in all areas of the shop.
**Essential Skills**
+ Minimum 5-7 years of experience in commercial structural steel fabrication.
+ Experience with the GMAW welding process.
+ Proficiency in fitting steel.
+ Knowledge in all aspects of steel fabrication with an emphasis on process improvement and efficiency.
+ Ability to effectively train fitters and welders.
+ Strong management skills.
+ Strong knowledge of QC requirements for structural steel.
+ Expert in print reading and interpretation of details, specifications, and general notes.

**Work Environment**
You will be working inside and outside of a large structural steel production facility in El Mirage, AZ. The facility is somewhat climate-controlled with swamp coolers and fans, organized, and continuously adding new lines and equipment. The dress code includes T-shirts and company merchandise, and we offer boot vouchers.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NA, Arizona.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
